Anita Burrows

Anita finds the idea of connecting Fine Art and Craft particularly interesting.

Her work is inspired by the natural environment and the play of light on surfaces at the beginning and end of the day when light is very contrasty. She makes printing plates from wood, lino, zinc, aluminium, and explores lithographic techniques.

Anita enjoys walking in the hills in the South Pennines and on the moors near to where she lives in Ilkley she finds her inspiration through interaction with the natural environment.

Nita Has worked in the arts for over 20 years with a research degree in engaged practice she has worked closely with people using art as a means to build trust and discover particularities of place in new ways; delivering workshops and projects throughout the North West and internationally.

Rediscovering a love of mark making through printmaking processes. Anita uses a layered approach to try to reflect the feelings of being in that place, the weather, the light, the sounds, the flora and fauna, to visually express a sense of place. Anita’s work was selected for the International Relief Print Exhibition in Haugusund, Norway in 2019

Anita’s last exhibition was at Artsmill in Hebden Bridge in March 2020.
