Kathryn Fox

2016 Art Trail

Kathryn Fox will be producing and showing a body of work, ‘Altered States’, for the Art Trail 2016. In previous years she has created a domestic installation, ‘Show Home’ (2013), and a town wide site-specific work, ‘Window Shopping’ (2015).

Communication lies at the heart of her work. Her practice is playful, exploratory, observational and reflective. Concept is explored through process, resulting in work which embraces a wide range of media, including drawing, printmaking and photography, as well as work with textiles and found objects. For the first time this year, some of her work will be available to buy (subject to her own ‘terms and conditions’!)

The starting point for ‘Altered States’ will be a consideration of states of flux and the capacity to adapt, explored via some of the crossovers between fine art and design, through drawing, print, bookmaking, work with paper and furniture ‘restoration’. It will also build on an artists’ collective project, ‘Vending Machine’, which she took part in this July in Hamburg.

She is one of the artists participating in the show ‘Refuge’, which will run concurrently with this year’s Art Trail, at the Barn Gallery in Weston.
